I've been really bad about updating recently. I haven't been saling recently and I haven't had any great resales (until today), so I haven't had anything to talk about the last few weeks. That changes today and probably only today.
I did set a new record today, selling the TI-83+ graphing calculator I bought June 23rd for $60. Seeing how I only spent $0.50 on it, my profit was 11900%, beating my previous record of 9900% for my old metal detector.
I have done quite well with the $2.65 challenge. So far I've spent $2 and resold $1 worth of items. From that $2, I've made exactly $100: $40 for the first TI-83 I bought and $60 today. Even if I were to retire from saling and selling today; I've still made almost a 3700% profit on my initial $2.65.

And Yet Another Record Broken
I just got back from a Craigslist deal. With it, I set myself a new record for most profitable garage saling day ever.
My previous most profitable day was December 10th, 2011. If you're a dedicated reader, which I seriously doubt, you will remember that is the day I purchased the laser tag set which I resold for $110, netting myself $104.
This evening I sold the mechanical keyboard I purchased January 14th, my first day of garage saling in 2012. I got my full $60 -- about $30 more than I anticipated making -- so I was willing to break my own rules and meet a Craigslist person at night but I was still sure to meet him in a well-populated, well-lit location. The buyer was pleasant and the transaction was very easy.
With this sale, my profit for January 14th, 2012 has reached $156.60 before gas (I paid $13.40 and sold the keyboard for $60, the hiking poles for $35, the Nerf guns for $65, and the silver for $10), beating my previous record of $104.

New Record!
Today I beat my return on investment record. My previous record was for a TI-83 Plus Silver Edition graphing calculator which I bought and sold before I had this blog. I paid $3 for it and sold it for $75.
Today I sold both Laser Tag sets I purchased relatively recently: the $3 set I purchased back in December and the $1.25 set I purchased back in January. The buyer paid $20 for the small set (this was agreed upon before he arrived) and $110 for the large set (this was not agreed upon before he arrived; I brought it in case he was interested). The small set isn't that impressive; I made an $18.75 profit on a $1.25 purchase. The profit from the large set is almost 150% my previous record of $72. With this sale, I also made December 10th, 2011 my most profitable garage saling day on record.
This sale adds $18.75 to my 2012 profit and $107 to my 2011 profit and completely shatters my previously estimated income for the large set.
Hopefully tomorrow's sales will provide me with some good purchases.
